We decided to trade in Sasha for some snorting pigs. Or at least that’s what our house has sounded like the past few days. Luke started getting a runny nose and cough on Thursday. Lucky for him, we already had a doctor appointment scheduled for Samuel on Friday morning. The nurse took us back, checked their temps and turns out both boys were running over 102. Boy did I ever feel like Mom of the Year! No ear infection, no strep throat, and most importantly no RSV. The pediatrician also told me that we were his 4th set of twins that morning. Premature babies (boys especially) are very susceptible this time of year, seem to pick up everything and are in and out of their office for much of fall and winter. Hoping we don’t return to their standing room only office until their 9 month check-up.
We were up for much of Friday night, so why not just make a weekend out of it. Late Saturday night, Samuel started screaming and wouldn’t stop even when I picked him up. A few minutes later he barfed everywhere. Different spot from where Sasha had barfed earlier that night. (Sorry no pictures this time.) Samuel now had the runny nose and cough. We moved the pack-n-play into our room and were woken up about every 2 hours. Poor boys are so congested and unable to get a good nights sleep. I am secretly happy this happened on a weekend. Taking care of 2 sick babies is quite a chore folks. Thankfully this is the first time they’ve been sick. Nice reminder of how lucky I am to be able to stay home with the boys and shelter them from some of the nasty bugs out there.
Hope to get my little boys back this week and return the little snorting pigs who have invaded our home!
