Brian and Lesley got married!

No not us…but another Brian and Lesley. Brian and Shannon are Carolyn's sons - one of 4 members of the yaya's....my mom, Judy, Pam and Carolyn. Shannon and I were pretty much the only ones from Lubbock to go to Baylor and we were very good friends in college. We've been close with their family since before I can even remember.

Anyway we headed to The River Ranch in Ft Worth for their reception Saturday night and were only 45 minutes late. My mom was a bit stressed, but luckily it was only a reception. Brian and Lesley got married a few weeks ago in Hawaii (my favorite place on earth). Traffic was horrendous, but it worked out well for the boys. They slept the entire hour and half trip and were ready to party by the time we got there…well Luke was anyway. The music was a tad loud for Samuel. Brian was just fine hanging outside with him for most of the evening. My how times have changed!

Having my parents at the reception allowed Brian and I to eat our dinner and have a glass of wine and a Mai Tai or two. Who's counting really? The party poopers (Brian and my dad) dragged us outta there around 9:30. Just about the time Luke and I were getting warmed up on the dance floor to Twist and Shout. The boys were asleep somewhere around 9:31. Good thing I had already changed them into their pj’s on my lap, wearing a dress, while sitting on a tiny 2 foot high 1 foot wide wooden bench in an also very tiny ladies room. Surprising how resourceful I can be sometimes!

Sadly my parents have headed home but we’ve got a roast in the oven and mashed potatoes on the stove. And a broccoli and rice casserole in the freezer for Thursday. Yummo!
